SASC Announcement

Dear SASC Families,

On behalf of SASC's Board of Directors, we are excited to announce that we have appointed the club's first Executive Director, Marius Röevde, who is joining us to lead and strengthen our programs and operations. This is a big milestone for SASC as we approach our 50th anniversary next year, representing the evolution of the club to meet the modern needs of our diverse membership.

Marius brings a wealth of professional and youth soccer leadership experience. With a deep passion for player development, family engagement, and community building, he will draw on his extensive experience as a former professional player, a professional and national team coach, and an executive director at previous clubs.

As Executive Director, Marius will oversee club operations and work closely with our staff, coaches, volunteers, and families to ensure both our recreational and competitive programs continue to thrive and reflect the values we care about most: fun, growth, teamwork, community, and a love for the game.

• For our recreational program, Marius will focus on supporting our Recreational Director, Gail Giansiracusa, and our Director of Coaching, Andrew Ransome, in maintaining and improving our fantastic program as a supportive, educational, and welcoming environment for all kids who want to enjoy soccer.
• For our competitive program, Marius will focus on helping our Competitive Director, Jim Jones, and our Technical Directors, Adam Clarke, Andrew Ransome, Guido Graziosi, and Christopher Sullivan, to strengthen player pathways, support coach development, and continue to enhance the competitive experience for all.

Marius is currently working remotely, but will be visiting Sunnyvale next week ahead of a permanent move in October. You may see him at the fields next week, introducing himself and learning more about our community. We encourage you to say hello, and join us in giving Marius a warm welcome to our SASC community.

We are confident that Marius' leadership will help SASC continue to grow strategically and sustainably in the short and long-term, providing the very best environment for all our players to learn, compete, and enjoy the beautiful game. We are equally excited for the opportunity his leadership will bring to our coaches, volunteers and parents, as we strengthen our club operations.
